Jesus our Bridegroom is coming soon for us, the church, His redeemed, His Bride. Ephesians 5:25-27 clearly outlines what our state of readiness should be for this moment.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
We are to be continually washed, glorious, without spot, wrinkle, or blemish, and holy. We are not. The church is tainted with both the things of the world and the teachings of latter day false teachers and prophets. We both believe and actively pursue their myths. Is this the kind of bride you want to be? Think of your own wedding day for a moment. Would you be pleased with a bride like this? No! You want a bride who is pure and glorious and holy. Why are we willing to present ourselves to Jesus as anything less?
You will notice a continuing theme through this book. Sometimes it may seem a little repetitive. But this matter of sin and righteousness is serious. The moment of our Lord’s coming is unknown. And He told us to watch and pray and be ready all the time. We are not busy about this most important matter. Jesus is our Life, our Savior, our Bridegroom. We must start yielding our lives to Him, believe His truth by faith, and submit to His Holy Spirit in us to work it out.
These myths are so deeply entrenched that it may be hard for you to fight your way out. Satan will grip you even harder to keep you turned away from Jesus. But read on. Read your Bible. Pray. Repent. Cry until you can cry no more. God wants you to be ready for His Son. He will move heaven and earth to prepare a wonderful Bride for His Son. Are you ready to surrender all? If so, then you are about to enter in to a glorious and free life, just like Jesus promised. It is real. Read on.
